note by Guerreiro note version 1
My name is Miguel and I'm from Portugal. I'm beggining in this subject of wind power and I would like to try to adapt a induction motor to become a generator. I'd like to know if you can help me with the following questions: 1 - will I need to rewire the stator? If so should I use thicker wire or slimer? And the number of turns? (the objective is to obtain 12V or 24V) 2 - can use a lathe to reduce the size of the rotor? 3 - should I modify the connections between the coils? Into star or delta? 4 - How can I know the number of poles of the motor? 5 - should I use one or two magnets for pole? If I use two should they be placed side by side with the same magnetic pole facing the same side? 6 - Will I have to use bridge rectifiers for correcting the current? And a charge controler?

I sure hope I placed this questions in the right place, if not please let me know.

Thank you for your time Continue the good work Miguel
